~ San Antonio, Texas ~

San Antonio is mostly urban.    However, we have outlying suburban areas that are still considered San Antonio. Our population is 1,144,646. That's over one million people!
We are the proud home of the Alamo, the NBA Champion Spurs, four military bases, and the world famous "Riverwalk". It is a very crowed, yet beautiful city.

During our Communities unit we learned a lot about our city and it's workers.

After reading Margaret Wise Brown's The Important Book, we wrote the following class poem about San Antonio using the book's format. You can read each individual student poems on our class website.

~ San Antonio ~

The important thing about San Antonio is
that we have the Spurs.
It is a big city. A river runs through downtown.
The nicest teachers work here.
We can shop at H.E.B.
But, the important thing about San Antonio is
that we have the Spurs.
