~ Ottawa, Canada ~

As our poem says, Ottawa is the capital city of Canada. We are home to the Federal Government whose offices are in the historic Parliament Buildings in the heart of the city. The Rideau Canal runs through the city; in the summer is it is a waterway for boats and in the winter, it
becomes the longest outdoor skating rink in the world. For more information and pictures please visit the

Rideau Canal Website

Tourists come from around the world to visit Ottawa. Each season brings new activities. We love living here as you can see from our poem!

~ Ottawa Is Important ~

The most important thing about Ottawa is that we live here.

It is the capital city of Canada and the Prime Minister works here.

There is a Tulip Festival in the spring and Winterlude in the winter.

The Ottawa Senators play hockey at the Corel Centre.

In the winter, the Rideau Canal freezes and becomes the longest outdoor skating rink in the world.

But the most important thing about Ottawa is that we live here.
