The important thing about Hawaii is flower lei.
They are beautiful and have an extraordinary smell like perfume.
Lei have lots and lots of pretty colors
like red, orange, yellow, pink, purple, white, and blue.
When you wear a lei it tickles because the petals tickle you.
Hula dancers wear lei when they dance.
But the important thing about Hawaii is flower lei.

The important thing about Hawaii is the mountains.
They're green and brown and high and could almost touch the sky.
It feels like you can never reach the top.
The morning sun gleams through the mountain range.
On the mountains the rocks are jagged.
After the morning rain the leaves drop dew.
But the important thing about Hawaii is the mountains.

Volcanoes
The important thing about Hawaii is volcanoes.
They are enormous purple black mountains with
humongous red shiny melting hot boiling lava in them.
This explodes out of the volcanoes and trembles down the edge
and tumbles into the ocean.

The important thing about Hawaii is shave ice.
Shave ice is a round mound made out of ice.
It's sweet and comes in many flavors like strawberry,
orange, lemon, grape and rainbow too.
Shave ice is cold and tasty.
It melts if you don't eat it fast.
Shave ice looks like crystal when you lift it up to the sun.
But the important thing about Hawaii is shave ice.
