Oh, The Places We'll Go!

Park Hills, Missouri

Mrs. Looney's Room 203

Our area is known as the Parkland due to its many parks.  We chose to write poems about our town's community park and two nearby state parks that we enjoy.

Columbia Park
The important thing about Columbia Park is that you can swim there!
It has 2 pools - 1 big & 1 small,
picnic tables to picnic on, an ampitheatre to listen to bands, and a chapel you can get married in!
But the important thing about Columbia Park is that you can swim there!

St. Joe State Park
The important thing about St. Joe Park  is that it is fun!
It has playgrounds to play on, camping areas to camp, off-road vehicle areas to ride A.T.V.'s, hiking and biking trails to walk and ride on, equestrian trails to ride horses on, picnic tables to eat on,
and two lakes - Monsanto & Pem - to swim and fish in.
But the important thing about St. Joe Park is that it is fun!

St. Francois State Park
The important thing about St. Francois Park is that you can camp there!
It has campgrounds to came in,
nature trails to learn on, picnic areas to picnic in, and lots of animals like deer, squirrels, and rabbits.
But the important thing about St. Francois Park is that you can camp there!

Don't Miss This!

Mrs. Looney and her class are hosting an Internet project:

Our Town, MO

The objective of their project is to provide a forum for Missouri students to read, research, write about, and share the past, present, and future of their Missouri communities.

What a great resource this will be!
