~ Mom of the Year 2004 ~

Our class pretended that a local newspaper was  running a contest for the "Mom of the Year".  Students wrote letters to the editor about their moms.   Guess who won the award?  That's right, all of our moms were the winners!  We've put our illustrated letters into an online book. Dear Editor,

     My mom should get the Mom of the Year Award because she loves me and takes care of me. She makes me breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She also helps me with my homework. But the best thing about her is that she is my mom.

     My mom is nice. She likes to play hopscotch with me. She’s always polite and she takes me to my friends’ houses. She works for Spring Lake tax. When she was little, she was the best at hulahooping and when she was seventeen, she was the best at pool. She likes to take care of me and she makes the best food. I love my mom!

    My mom is funny and she tells good jokes. I like her because she is nice. She likes to help me, she likes to go out to dinner, and she likes Christmas. She is great! My mom likes to talk to her friends. She likes tennis very much and she's good at it. I love her. But the best thing about her is that she loves me.

    My mom is such a good chef. Her mozzarella sticks are awesome! When she was little, she was a prom queen. She always kisses me at night. When she is all done with that, she stays up really late and watches T.V. The show she watches is called the Brady Bunch. She watches for an hour or two. Her favorite person on the Brady Bunch is Ben. But the best thing about her is that she loves me.

     My mom is very kind and helpful with my homework. She likes to be a crossing guard and makes sure everyone is safe. She always takes care of sick people with her friends because she works for the first Aid. She goes to meetings. She is a captain and she likes it.
     My mom helps me with making cupcakes when it's my birthday. Sometimes she likes to push me on the swings at the park. I love my mom.

   My mom is a great chef! She loves to help her community. She always helps me with my homework if I need it. She loves my brother and I a lot. She's a realtor. She loves to read. She also plays tennis on a team for the Atlantic Club and is the head player. She cares for my family. Her favorite food is Italian. But the best thing about my mom is she's my mom.

   My mom is beautiful and smart. She is painting a picture of me and it looks real. She only likes to cook on the grill. My mom used to work for a company and she drew the labels for all kinds of stuff. That’s how I got so good at drawing. I love her so much. She always goes to my competitions and my plays. The best thing about her is that I love her.
