Mothers Day
Snack Bag: The children decorate a paper lunch bag and put in two napkins, a
bag of microwave popcorn, two juice boxes. The children are ready to have a nice quiet
snack with mom. (plan ahead and get the popcorn and juice boxes on sale).
A Cup of Tea: Here's
a Mother's Day card that hits the spot! Print out this Word doc
file that has a picture of a tea pot and poem for child to sign. The tea pot can
be colored of course and Happy Mother's Day or Just For Mom written in
the center. Add a tea bag to the pot when done. This looks nice inside a
folded and decorated 9 x 12" construction paper cover. Here's the poem in case
you just want that:
Here's a poem for Mother's Day:
I'll try my best in every way
But when you get upset with me
Relax and have a cup of tea!
A Flower for
Mom: I buy a flat of pretty flowers, styrofoam cups (2 per child), and
potting soil. Kids decorate one of the cups with crayons or markers (permanent ink
kind work best) and set aside. They plant a flower in the other cup, adding soil and
water. That's inserted into the decorated cup. You could use plastic pots instead of
styrofoam.
