“In this book children can
identify with the blue-jean-clad boy who narrates what he sees,
touches, smells, and hears in fall. The book also explains that
geese, hawks, and monarch butterflies migrate while other creatures
hibernate, including the ladybug, earthworm, and frog The story
expands into what animals do in the fall and what changes nature
itself undergoes: shorter days, crisper air, bare trees.” Amazon
books.
Following the lead of the boy in
the book, we brainstormed what fall is like in our area. We then
followed the pattern of another book, not related to fall titled THE
IMPORTANT BOOK by Margaret Wise Brown.

We liked the pictures that
were in the book so much that we decided to create our own
illustrations of something that happens in the fall.
