This picture shows our small playground just outside our first grade back door.  This last week the leaves have really been blowing around and the air is beginning to feel  more like fall.
Students brought in lots of different leaves to share.  We researched what kind of leaves they were in the book Autumn Leaves by Ken Robbins.

After reading several other fall books we wrote a class acrostic poem:

                 Fall Is Here!

alling leaves coming down
  ~ red, yellow brown

pple picking time ~ applesauce, juicy apples, apple pie
        ~ YUM!

ots of animals getting ready for winter
              ~ squirrels and chipmunks

                   ots of fun activites
~ going trick or treating, going to football and
                    basketball games, having Thanksgiving
