c-FallingLeaf.gif (345 bytes) Our computer classes are getting ready for the fall season. For this project our 4th and 5th grade classes wrote their own poems about fall. All the classes were to write their poem in Microsoft Word program and decorate in the fall theme.

The "best" of all the poetry handed in were to be submitted to the Fall is Here! We Love It collaborative project.

 And here they are!

The “best” of the 5th grade poetry is a wonderful poem by April from class 5-510.

Journey to the Ground

I begin to break away
From the place that was my home
For all year round.
Floating serenely in the breeze
The emerald green
Beneath me.
I see a friend beside me
Floating calmly in the air
Orange

Emerald
And brown
Touching gently
To the ground
At the feet
Of the place that
Was my home.
Until I started my
Journey to the Ground.

The “best” of the 4th grade poetry is an exciting poem by Faizah:

      Fall Celebrations

I see the different celebrations
I hear people whispering prayers
I feel the different decorations
I taste the delicious meals that had just been cooked and
I smell the turkey being passed around!

An I on Fall

I put on my shoes, my coat, and grab a rake.
I have to pile those leaves, for my mother's sake.
I put them together, in a nice pile.
I don't even have to think for a while.
I put down my rake, run, and WEEEE!
I jump right into those colorful leaves.

I wake up, it's only a dream.
Then I see fall, waiting for me.

Fall.
Red.
Leaves.
Breeze.
Fun.

Autumn
I see leaves on the ground
I hear the bird singing
I feel the cool breeze in my hair.
I taste freshly picked apples.
I smell pumpkin pie.
