This was our second internet project for the year and the students could not wait to get started.  We decided to practice the skill of visualization during this project.   The children listened to A Tree Is Nice by Janise May Udry. 

The cover and illustrations were masked and never shown to them.  Sketching out our mind pictures on paper was our first step. We then went to the computer lab to draw their illustrations with Kid Pix.  Our wonderful computer specialist Mrs. Shazar was there to guide all of us through this learning experience.

The children had also listened to so many wonderful fall poems during this project. During writer's workshop we incorporated many different approaches such as shared writing, individual writing and our first attempt at group writing.  As this was their second project they had much more to say about what was submitted.  So after a vote they choose their group poems for you to read.   We hope you enjoy our work.
