Our
favorite book to read was Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert.
We went for a walk to a nearby park with our 4th grade buddies to
collect leaves. We then created our own leaf persons and creatures
like in the book.

Here is the pattern we used
to write our class poem:
When is Fall?
When___________________________________
(adjective, noun, verb)
And _______________________________________
(adjective, noun, verb)
When___________________________________
(adjective, noun, verb)
And _______________________________________
(adjective, noun, verb, prepositional
phrase)
_______________________________________
(noun, verb)
While___________________________________
(noun, verb, noun)
Then Fall is here, we love it! |
We brainstormed to come up with things we see in the fall, then
described what they look like and what they do and this is our
finished poem:

When It's Fall
by Mrs. Dodson's Class
When is Fall?
When colorful leaves fall,
And the bright Harvest Moon shines
When orange pumpkins smile,
and funny trick or treaters parade in the dark,
Turkeys gobble, gobble
While families eat pumpkin pie,
Then Fall is here, we love it! |
