We all have fond memories of
the sights, sounds, smells, and good food that come with the different seasons. With
this in mind, our 2nd grade class wrote fall poems related to the senses of sight,
hearing, smell, taste, and touch.
When I
hear leaves crunching under my feet,
taste apples and candy,
smell turkey at Thanksgiving,
see pumpkins and people in their Halloween outfits,
touch candy and pumpkins,
I know its fall!
When I
hear doorbells ring on Halloween,
see kids wearing costumes and leaves changing color,
touch candy and apples,
smell turkey on Thanksgiving,
taste apple pie,
I know its fall!
When I
taste popcorn, turkey, candy, and fruit,
smell oranges and apples,
see my sister on the soccer field,
hear leaves being crunched beneath my feet,
touch a pumpkin in the field,
I know its fall!
When I
hear girls scream when the boys scare them on Halloween,
taste candy and popcorn,
smell turkey,
see birds flying south,
touch a football at my games and practice,
I know its fall!
When I
smell popcorn and candy,
hear leaves fall,
taste apples and waffles,
see a squirrel jumping off a tree,
touch a Halloween goody bag,
I know its fall!
When I
hear runners,
smell candy and popcorn,
taste fruit and hotdogs,
touch the leaves that I jump in,
see leaves falling and jack-o-lanterns,
I know its fall!
When I
taste apples and candy,
hear wind blowing in my ears,
smell turkey on Thanksgiving,
see pumpkins,
touch and carve a jack-o-lantern,
I know its fall!
When I
hear leaves crunching as people step on them,
smell turkey and chicken,
taste fruit and candy,
touch apples and footballs,
see jack-o-lanterns and pumpkins,
I know its fall!
When I
smell apple pie and popcorn too,
hear leaves rustling when I walk,
taste mashed potatoes and turkey,
see mummies on Halloween,
touch pumpkins when I pick them up for Halloween,
I know its fall!
When I
smell apples,
see yellow and red leaves falling from the trees,
touch a pumpkin,
taste candy that I get from trick or treating,
hear the word, Boo,
I know its fall!
When I
tasteapples and candy,
touch pumpkins and Halloween costumes,
see leaves falling from trees,
hear leaves crunching under my feet,
smell turkey and mashed potatoes in the oven,
I know its fall!
