Book:
That’s What Happens When It’s Spring
by Elaine W. Good
|

My second grade class decided to use the colors of the rainbow to organize
our spring poem. First we brainstormed signs of spring for each of the
colors of the rainbow. Then we worked together to write a class poem. We
began by choosing a color word and a spring noun to go with it. Then we
added verbs and where the actions took place. Finally we added an adjective
in front of our color word.
Once our class poem was finished, the students wrote their own individual
spring poems and illustrated them.
