Letter to 1st Graders 2007 - 2008

Dear Girls and Boys,

Welcome to first grade! I hope you are having a terrific summer. I can't wait to see you!  We will have lots of fun reading, writing, and learning new things together. Do you know that you will have your own desk this year?

Our first day is a half-day with dismissal at 12:40 pm. 

I have crayons, pencils, folders, scissors, paper, and a glue stick for you to use in our classroom.

Please bring:

• a decorated shoebox.  After we we see how great your “word box” looks, it will be kept at home for storing special word cards and little books.

• a bag or backpack for things to bring home.

• a healthful snack and drink to have in the morning.

I am looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday, September  5th.  I will meet you on the blacktop near the field at 8:20 am. See you soon!
